Le Jardin (The Garden) Post 2
Moving on now from a clean-ish palate, we decided our first project in the garden is to build garden beds surrounded by travertine stone. Unfortunately you can’t just put the stone on its side in a rectangle form & call it a day. This project required the digging of trenches, building wooden frames, pouring concrete, laying the stone & then a bit of mortar to finish it up. Needless to say it was not a weekend job. With help from Maxime, we were able to get the concrete bit done pretty quickly - he works fast! So now we’ve built beds, filled them with plants & are harvesting some lovely crops to cook with. We still have a ways to go with this project as we want to build a path between the beds & lay down stone to help keep the weeds at bay. But this first big step is done & we thought we’d share the labors!
