From “Flesh” to Fresh
The first room that was desperately crying out for a makeover was the dining room. A beautiful room in & of itself, it had one fatal flaw - the paint. It was (& I kid you not) a combination of flesh color & peach. Not to mention the fact that I cleaned probably 50 years of dirt from the surface of all the walls. A project like this does not wind up being a weekend thing. We had a LOT of prep to do, from protecting the herringbone floors with cardboard, to taping off over 100 year old paintings on the walls. We had our work cut out for us! All in all it took 15 days of actual work…& that’s with the use of a spray gun, scaffolding, a CSI white suit & respirator like masks. From flesh & peach, we now have fresh white walls. It’s bright, clean, & a beautiful tone to show off the amazing moldings on the walls & the aforementioned paintings. Take a look at the shots & be happy it wasn't you doing the work. Hopefully, though, you’ll be able to join us someday to eat at the table!
