One (BIG) Hidden Surprise…
This lovely is an in-town chateau with a few hectares of land. It’s been neglected & is in want of some TLC, to be sure. It has an adorable outbuilding that would be ideal for a teaching kitchen or even for cozy, small weddings. The property overlooks mountains & has a view of orchards of trees. On the downside, the prior owner is a developper, so a portion of the adjoining land was converted into luxury condos. A crafty buyer would plant some trees, so that’s not a dealbreaker. The interiors boast those intangibles we yearn for, high ceilings, hardwood floors, a good amount of rooms for guests & access to the town. Yay! But, oh, the caveat. Big caveat. The edge of the land that overlooks the mountains is a “separate parcel” which, if not purchased with the chateau would likely get sold to a developper. And, that parcel added an additional 150,000 euros to the price. Yikes. What to do about that little surprise?
