Like a Crazy Aunt…
The exterior is positively awe inspiring. The inside belongs to a crazy aunt with 20 cats & a bit of a personality disorder…so likable but a bit head-scratching. The interior of the chateau has a wonderful first floor with possibilities to redecorate to its original grandeur, to be sure. The bedroom floors were another story. The rooms all had tile floor, bathrooms with glass walls (as in you could watch someone on the toilet?! huh?!) & the configuration of the floors was truly bewildering. We are prepared to do work, to be sure, but this chateau (like the last) seemed as though it would take years to untangle from its current predicament. Now, that still didn’t take it out of contention…it was, unfortunately, the fact that this chateau is RIGHT on the expressway, Not a rural route, but the interstate highway, so the noise was constant. If we’d wanted to host outdoor events, it would be difficult to hear above the din of whirring traffic. So this chateau became a cross off, sadly. That doesn’t mean we still can’t marvel at the exterior though…it sure is a stunner, isn’t it?
