Terms & Conditions

*Reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Space is limited, so early reservations are strongly advised.  A space is considered “reserved” once the first (non-refundable) payment has been made.

*Reservations include hands-on instruction (with recipes), lodging, & meals during the stay.  Guests are only responsible for their own dinner on the arrival date.  Dining suggestions can be located on our website.  Complimentary beverages that are made available to guests all day during their stay include coffee, tea, still & sparkling water, & two different juices for breakfast.

*Price is exclusive of all modes of transportation to arrive at Château Dépierre in Roanne.  Château Dépierre is not responsible for any other expenses incurred by you in preparing to attend its programs, including hotel, air-fare, & other ground transportation.

*Guests should plan to arrive the day before classes begin.  Check-in is available after 3 pm.  Checkout is the morning after the last day of instruction, prior to 12 pm.  Generally, we can be flexible for arrival & check-out times, but please do ask in advance due to the possibility of other guests departing or arriving before or after your stay.

Payments & Cancellation Policy

*Class Fees:   Payments are structured as follows:

Payment 1, 25%:   To secure reservation
NON-REFUNDABLE

Payment 2, 75%:  30 days before class
NON-REFUNDABLE

Payment 1 to secure the reservation is a promise by Chateau Depierre to hold your place for the class session & a commitment by you to participate & should be considered non-refundable - no exceptions.  This assurance means that Chateau Depierre may potentially deny other interested parties the ability to book on those dates, thereby losing business, which is the reason Payment 1 is non-refundable.

Payment 2 shall be billed 30 days before the class session. After such payment has been made, the class session is non-cancelable & non-refundable.

In the circumstance where a class session is being booked with less than 30 days notice, the full payment amount shall be required to reserve the session, which shall be non-refundable.

*Rescheduling:  Château Dépierre appreciates that personal emergencies can arise, accordingly a class session MAY be able to be rescheduled.  However, it is at the sole discretion of Château Dépierre whether a session may be moved, & rescheduling would based on availability.  If a reschedule has been agreed upon by Château Dépierre under rare circumstances, there will be a limited 18-month window to reschedule, after which time the payments made shall be forfeited.

*Eligibility to Participate:  Guests will not be eligible to participate if all payments are not made.

*Château Dépierre Cancellations:  Château Dépierre reserves the right to cancel any program prior to its start, in which case all monies will be refunded. The costs of any travel or housing arrangements you may have made will not be reimbursed by Château Dépierre.  Travel insurance is strongly recommended for these reasons.

*Limited Liability:  Château Dépierre shall not be liable, directly or indirectly, for any need for a cancellation out of our control whatsoever, including but not limited to acts of God, detention, war, quarantine, weather, terrorism, civil disturbance, strike, changes in government regulations, air-line cancellations, or other travel operations.

*Travel Insurance:  We strongly encourage that you obtain personal travel insurance.  Travel insurance can be obtained through your local travel agent or by visiting various travel insurance sites online.

Important Considerations

*Allergies / Sensitivities:  For many of our courses, we will be tailoring the daily menus based on seasonality & availability of ingredients.  It is VERY IMPORTANT for you to provide any allergies or food sensitivities OR any foods that you definitely won't eat.  We cannot guarantee that all dishes can be crafted with this in mind, but it is our goal to create menus suitable for all participants. We are happy to work with certain dietary restrictions, however please note our culinary programs are not suitable for vegans, strict vegetarians or for those who are gluten or lactose intolerant.

*Mobility:  Our cooking classes are designed for adults and there is a great deal of standing & walking involved.  Regrettably, our historic property is not handicap accessible.  There are neither ramps or elevators for those with limited mobility.

*Age Requirements:  We are prepared to accommodate mature & culinarily interested minors 12 & older with an adult guardian participating in the program alongside the minor.  Guests over 18 do not require adult supervision.

*Smoking: Château Dépierre is a non-smoking property.  There shall be no smoking or vaping within the chateau, neither in the suites nor any indoor common public area.  Arrangements shall be made outdoors for those guests who wish to smoke.  Any violation of this policy will result in a €500 cleaning fee per room impacted.

*Parking:  There is secured, free parking available on-site.  Please let us know if you shall require space.

*Pets:  For the safety & enjoyment of our guests, along with sanitation considerations, pets are not permitted.

*Responsibility Disclaimer:  Services provided in connection with the class session, such as other hotel accommodations, all forms of transportation & off-site vendors, are rendered by independent contractors who are not agents or employees ofChâteau Dépierre.  Participants expressly agree that Château Dépierre shall not be liable for any delay, mishap, inconvenience, expense, bodily injury or death or damage to property occasioned through the acts, negligence or defaults of any company or individual engaged in providing the services arranged by Château Dépierre. Château Dépierre shall not be liable, directly or indirectly, for any injury, death or damage for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to acts of God, detention, war, quarantine, weather, terrorism, civil disturbance, strike, changes in government regulations, airline, or other travel operations.  Château Dépierre shall not be responsible for any property damaged, lost, or left behind by the participant. Château Dépierre reserves the right to substitute itinerary items of equal value without notice to participants.  Purchase of baggage, personal effects, accident, health, & trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.

Other

*Gratuities:  Gratuities are not expected or accepted at Château Dépierre.  We strive to offer exceptional hospitality to every guest as a fundamental component of your experience at Château Dépierre.  Respectfully, gratuities will be politely declined.

*Photography & Mobile Devices:  As a courtesy to other guests during our existing, pre-scheduled classes, we respectfully request that you refrain from taking photographs or videos during the class & dining portion of the session.  We endeavor to have all guests be fully immersed in the sessions & offerings.  There will be limited opportunities to photograph cooking activity & final dishes which shall specifically announced by the chef.  Please do not take pictures of other guests during this opportunity.  We kindly request that mobile devices, for other uses, be done so discretely.
