My (not so secret) Towel Obsession

I’m just going to go ahead & say it…yes, I iron my dishtowels. I realize it’s ridiculous, but it makes me happy, so I hope you can accept this about me! I’ve recently sewn some super easy DIY towels with my old 1990’s Singer. My machine is a bit of a clunker (it makes a ca-chunk-ca-chunk noise when I sew), but it gets the job done. With European linen from www.fabrics-store.com, one dishtowel can be made in about 15 minutes (I use the 19 or 20” width). The side edges are already finished (aka the selvedge edge), so all the towel needs is a top & bottom seam & a little bit of tape to make a loop so it’s easy to hang. I’ve made a little stash that I’m going to save until we can set up our kitchen in France. New dishtowels - yay!
